Viime perjantaina, eli 7.2.14, kantaesityksensä saanut Jorma Uotisen koreografia Hetkien vaellus otettiin vastaan positiivisesti. Teos esitettiin osana Katedraali soi -musiikkitapahtumaa Turussa.

Turun Sanomien kriitikko Kaisa Kurikka totesi (9.2.2014) esityksen saaneen aikaan voimakkaan kokemuksen.

IN ENGLISH:
On last Friday, Feb the 7th 2014, Jorma Uotinen's choreography Hetkien vaellus (Passagem das horas) was performed the very first time for the public and it got a positive response. The piece was performed on Katedraali soi music festival in Turku, Finland. Before that Jorma Uotinen, who is both Professor of Arts and a choreographer, was noticed with this new work also in the popular Helsingin Sanomat newspaper. Hetkien vaellus was performed in a slightly unusual place – Turku Cathedral. However, as Mr. Uotinen himself commented to Helsingin Sanomat (Feb 7th 2014): ”It felt like this Cathedral was the right place from the beginning, because of the music and the theme of the piece.”

Critic Kaisa Kurikka from Turun Sanomat wrote (Feb 9th 2014) that Hetkien vaellus gave a strong experience for its audience. She also praised the talent of Pétur Sakari, the young organist, who was responsible of the sound-scape of this dance piece. As Kurikka wrote about the music: ”The Cathedral was both full of skillfully played massive sounds but also delicate music.”

Columnist Matti Pursiheimo from Länsi-Suomi wrote of this new piece: "The first (positive) chills came from fire artist Antti Nerg's entrée. His living fire cause a play of shadows and lights on the walls of the cathedral, a play that takes you back in time centuries ago, in time without electric lights."

The piece had different elements together: music, dance and poetry by Fernando Pessoa. Ms. Kurikka was fascinated by the talent and moves of PDC Pori Dance Company dancers. She wrote that Meri Tankka, Riikka Tankka, Mikko Lampinen and Riku Lehtopolku are excellent dancers to perform Mr. Uotinen's statuesque moves. The dance itself had harmony and continuity which were paced with effective stops and demanding lifts. This dance piece deals with the age-old themes of the journey of a man.

Although Hetkien vaellus had its premiere in Turku Cathedral, the piece is structured in a way that makes it possible to be performed also elsewhere.
